This is a fantastic effort from Mark and the team at Red Bull Racing and the Australian motor sport community wish Mark all the best for the second half of the season.
In the wake of Mark Webber's fantastic results, AMSF International Rising Star Scott Pye is fulfilling the AMSF's expectations by dominating the 2010 MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain. Scott has won six of the ten rounds completed and has held pole position for five of the rounds. Please refer to the story below about the incredible results achieved by Scott so far this season.
It is also worth mentioning the success that all Australians are enjoying on the international stage. From Daniel Ricciardo competing in Formula Renault to Will Power competing in the IndyCar Series in the USA, the contingent of Australian drivers overseas is moving from strength to strength. Will Power is currently leading the IndyCar Series, while Ricciardo sits in second position in the World Series by Renault. Power and Ricciardo are joined by fellow Australians Ryan Briscoe and Marcos Ambrose who are also doing our country proud and succeeding on the international stage. The AMSF wishes all international drivers the best as they strive for more success in the second half of the 2010 season.
To ensure the AMSF can continue to support our talented young Australian drivers competing nationally and internationally, the CAMS Rising Star Program Nominations have opened for the 2011 season. In this edition of Foundation Focus you will see the way in which talented young drivers can apply for this premier driver development program.
Finally, the AMSF would like to welcome the newly appointed CAMS CEO David Morgan. The AMSF is looking forward to working with David to ensure the future of Australian motor sport continues to thrive and prosper.
I look forward to the remainder of the 2010 season with anticipation.
